Dr. Reagan Robertson MD, MSc, FRCSC

Dr. Reagan Robertson is a specialist in Colon and Rectal and Surgery and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Manitoba. 

Education and Practice Experience

Dr. Robertson completed her medical school and General Surgery residency at the University of Manitoba. During residency, she also earned a Master’s of Science in Surgery degree. She then completed additional fellowship training in Colorectal Surgery at the University of British Columbia. Her fellowship training included a focus on advanced laparoscopic and transanal minimally invasive techniques for benign and malignant colorectal disease. After Fellowship, she worked with the colorectal group at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, where Dr. Robertson gained valuable experience in managing patients with complex IBD, diverticular disease and colorectal cancer with a focus on minimally invasive approaches. She joined the General and Colorectal surgery group at the University of Manitoba in 2020. 


Dr. Robertson’s practice interests include inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal malignancies, perianal disease, endoscopy, and transanal surgery. She has expertise in minimally invasive approaches to these problems intended to improve patient care. She has a particular interest in the management of inflammatory bowel disease. Her research interest include patient-reported outcomes and improving quality of care for IBD patients. 

Dr. Robertson also enjoys teaching, including medical students, residents and sub-specialty fellows. Other areas of interest include global surgery, and she has travelled to Peru with the group GOMED International to provide surgical services to underserviced patients.
