Dr. Shariff is a Surgical Oncologist with special interest in Colorectal and Gastric cancers, complex multi visceral resections, as well as Gastrointestinal Neuroendocrine disease. Originally from the west coast of Canada, she obtained her Undergraduate and Medical degrees from McGill University, followed by a residency in General Surgery at the University of British Columbia. She went on to complete fellowships in Acute Care Surgery at Vancouver General Hospital, and Complex Surgical Oncology at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Shariff also has a fellowship in Clinical Education from the Center for Health Education Scholarship at UBC, and a Masters degree in Health Professions Education from Maastricht University. Her educational interests lie in the realms of simulation debriefing, self-directed learning, and formative feedback.
